Know Yourself: Numerology As A Tool

One of the most difficult things to do is to accept yourself… and others… unconditionally: Without judgment, without conditions, and without expectations. Acceptance can only occur when you have sufficient knowledge to understand why thing are the way they are. As an example, everyone knows that snakes have a sinuous body which slithers and winds its way across the ground. Knowing that snakes can’t walk on two feet, we ACCEPT that this is so, and thus we don’t expect snakes to walk like humans.
So among other things, knowledge helps us to live life without judgment.
This is where metaphysical sciences like Astrology, Numerology, Palmistry, and Graphology, come in handy. Astrology requires an ephemeris and the precise time, date and location of one’s birth to configure. Numerology, on the other hand, can be quite simple. If you know your name, you have enough information to know a great deal about yourself.
In Numerology, the first letter in your first name is your CORNERSTONE. As it sounds, this is the first element of your character which serves as the foundation for all the other aspects of your personality. Without this cornerstone, the rest of your character crumbles into chaos.
The idea behind Numerology is that letters have energy, and when you reduce a letter to a number, you will understand the vibration of that letter. Letters are assigned numbers, starting at “A” as the number “1.” All double digits (except Master Numbers) are reduced back to one digit, so that when we get to the letter “J,” which is the tenth letter in the alphabet, we add the “1” and “0” and we’re back to “1”. By the same rule, “Z” is the 26th letter of the alphabet and is an “8.”
Using numbers as a means to know yourself, simply treat the number you’re working with as a “tool”… something you can use to build something… in this instance, to build your character and path in life.
So let’s say your name is Adam. Your Cornerstone is “A/1.” “1” energy is aggressive, assertive and all about the SELF. It can be self-centered, self-absorbed, but also self-sacrificing. It says to others, “HERE I AM. TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT.” As a result, since “1” can rise above the judgment of others, “1” Cornerstone people make great leaders. They have strong convictions and generally possess the charisma to lead and inspire others. Depending on what other letters comprise their charts, people with this Cornerstone can accomplish a great deal.
Adam, for instance (according to the Bible), was the first man created by God, and he had to work hard (“D”), assert his decisions (“A”) and then work hard again (“M”) in order to propogate humanity.
Adolph Hitler, by the same rule, used his aggressive leadership (“A” Cornerstone), hard work (“D”), parental authority (“O”), charm (“L”), philosophical bent (“P”) and executive effectiveness (“H”) in trying to accomplish his goal of world domination. He didn’t succeed, but he was certainly powerful enough to imprint his mark in human history.
Of course, whether the accomplishments are morally “good” or “bad” is a matter of a person’s choice. Adam used his Cornerstone to lead humanity by example, while Adolph used his “A” to lead by dictatorship. Yes, other aspects in your numerology chart can show conflicted areas in your life which might twist you away from your divine path. Such things are useful to know as well.
Numerology tools can be complex, and a study of this “science” can lead you to a knowledge of your “Personality,” your “Destiny,” your “Karmic Numbers,” your “Soul Urge” and many other important aspects which can serve as powerful illuminating factors as you walk your path in this lifetime.
Understanding Numerology can guide you in many ways. You can choose names for your children to give them specific “tools” in life. For example, I named my daughter, “Arielle,” because I wanted her to have a Cornerstone which would give her a strong, assertive personality. Having a “T/2” Cornerstone myself, I prefer being the “support” rather than the “leader.” “2” has many strengths but tends to be more diplomatic and backstage… letting others have the spotlight. Still, because I wanted the “A/1” energy to be softened by compassion and wisdom, I followed that “A” with an “R” and “I”… both of which are “9” vibrations.
A “9” vibration in Numerology can be quite beautiful. It is all-knowing, containing all the previous “8” vibrations within itself. Thus, it has the wisdom and compassion to understand others and choose which aspect of itself to apply in any given situation. “9” is the vibration of the “old soul.”
To continue with the name “Arielle,” I followed the “9” vibrations with two “E/5” vibrations, which lend an adventurous and open-minded element, and two “L/3” vibes, which add a sort of angular sense-of-humor to one’s character (for example, Lucille Ball).
My daughter is now an adult and certainly lives up to all the potentials of her name, including taking the lead in many of our adventures together.
Using Numerology to know myself and to know my daughter, I can participate in building a relationship without judgment, because I understand all the many elements and aspects which come into play with the personalities we possess. Yes, there are still expectations, but they are reasonable and flexible. The mutual acceptance of each other did require some hard work and patience, but I always felt at an advantage because I knew what we had to work with.

After accepting the fact that her husband will never be a leader or aggressive, she decided that having a great lover was better than risking the other outcome.
